Do i have to download it? I saw references to ant landscape generator, but have no idea how to activate it or download it. Then i ran the landscape eroder tool from the landscape tools section of tools panel, leaving it on the default values.

I can use the circle tool to create a regular hexagon by setting the number of vertices to 6. One video supposedly showed how to activate it, i found it but there was no activate check box shown. Afterward the only change is the addition of 10 new vertex groups and the model being triangulated.
Do i have to download it? Remember that as of blender 2.79, you don't have to install it using a separate file, blender already has it in its optional addons with the compatible version. It's there a way to export a ant landscape generated terrain from blender to a heightmap?
